The run that defines the house from the street. Shingle tabs, gutter clips or fascia clips chosen per surface — never staples into trim, never nails through shingles.
Wrapped trunks and porch columns, netted shrubs, canopy runs where the tree can carry them. Wrap spacing kept consistent so it reads deliberate rather than improvised.
Garland, wreaths, wrapped railings, framed doorways. Fixed with hardware that comes off in January without taking the paint or the trim finish with it.
A scheduled January visit. Strings come down, get coiled and labelled by run, and go back into your bins — so next year's install starts from a known state instead of a knot.

Installs run late October through early December. Both dates get set at the same time, so the January visit is already on the calendar before the first string goes up.
